We know that nothing beats the experience you gain in the real-world. As part of Diploma of Beauty Therapy, students undertake industry placement in a host business that best suits their interests to enhance their skills in the beauty industry.
During the second block of your Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SHB50115) you will take part in the Industry Placement Program.
TELL US YOUR INTERESTS
Before Industry Placement commences, you will be asked to complete an Expression of Interest form. This is a great starting point for you to think about where you want to take your career in the beauty industry.
STRONG INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS
Beauty EDU has strong industry partner relationships and we work closely with you to create a placement experience that is aligned with your career aspirations. Alternatively, if you have firm ideas as to where you want to spend your time, we will support you in securing your own placement.
TIME TO INTERVIEW
You will meet individually with our Industry Placement Team to discuss your preferences and opportunities for placement. From there, you will have an interview with your potential host employer to confirm your placement.
Once your industry placement is confirmed, you will complete 70 hours as part of your assessment requirements for the unit "Research and Apply Beauty Industry Information". Endless opportunities await you from here!
Opportunities in the beauty industry are increasing rapidly. Deciding on the direction of your career in the industry is a big decision. This insider information is invaluable as it gives you the chance to experience a range of industry roles to see if they suit you and where your strengths lie.
The beauty industry is small and tight knit. For experienced therapists, work often comes through word of mouth and personal recommendations. Industry placement is your first opportunity to start building your own network through the relationships you create with your host employer and your colleagues.
Industry placement students are often offered their first job at their host business. Even when a placement doesn’t result directly in a job offer, the experience gained will differentiate you from other graduates. Many host employers are happy to provide a reference and can put you in touch with other business owners.
Leading opportunities are available in many
different career paths of the beauty industry.
